2008 Potato Bowl USA Parade Grand Marshal

 

Jerry Larson is a certified seed potato grower from Climax, MN. He presently grows 200 acres of potatoes. He also raises registered and certified wheat and soybeans.

 

Jerry has been instrumental in local agriculture as he has served on many boards including Climax Cenex Board; Climax Grain Coop Board; Climax-Shelly School Board; RRV Potato Express; National Potato Board; National Potato Board Seed Task Force Committee and served as Treasurer, Vice President and President of the RRV Potato Growers Association.

 

Jerry is currently serving on the Climax Development Corp. Board; MN Certified Seed Potato Growers Assn; Minnesota Agri-Growth Council Board of Directors; and MN Area One Potato Research and Promotion Council. He also serves on the National Potato Council Canadian Trade Committee; Mexican Trade Committee and he held offices four different times and was President of the National Potato Council in 1984.

 

Because of his dedication to the farming industry, Jerry has received the NPC Environmental Stewardship award, the North American Seed Potato Grower of the Year, the Meritorious Service Award and the Gold Potato Award.

 

 

 

The Potato Bowl USA is a weeklong festival teaming the University of North Dakota and the Red River Valley potato growing industry.

It was created in 1965.
